    Subject: Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) Baited
    Location: UK
    Camera: Canon EOS R5
Lens: EF500mm f/4L IS II USM +1.4x III
    Exposure: 1/2500 at f/9 ISO6400 EV +0.67
    Original format: Portrait, almost FF

Note: The subject is fully wild and completely unconstrained. Besides the potential impact of my presence, nothing has been done to intentionally alter or affect the ongoing behaviour of the subject.

The mouse is dead and bred for snakes and I cannot see any difference between this and using sound recordings. It is now help the food intake for the female who is on the nest with eggs.

Hey where have you been - hope all is ok!
Very clean and clear image, the processing appears very gentle, I am sure the image reflects the situation, the contrast and detail in the feet and perch looks very good, the colours in the kestrel look spot on, detail is apparent in the eye - super shot.

    Indeed superb image Steve,

Well balanced compositionally and the subject is super cute.

Beautiful colours, including background. Just love the detail on those feathers!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
