Female Burrowing Owl gave instructions to mate before going back to her burrow while keeping a watchful eye on me.

Beanbag on the ground.

The f6.3 left the male owl a little bit OOF, but not too bad. I was setting up for flight shots, which I failed miserably with this species.

Thank you for your comments.

In an ideal scenario you'd have even lighting across the frame not half-half. The oof vegetation could be removed carefully as it provides a slight distraction.

Nice details and interaction. :S3:

A nice shot with excellently judged DOF.
With those hooded eyes it looks more like the evil villain stage left plotting an ambush on you.

Hi Loi, neat interaction of this beautiful species. I agree with Akos' critique.

Excellent interaction Loi. There is a dark spot above the right hand side bird that I would clone out. I think the beauty of the interaction captured, overrides the imperfections in this case.

Really does look like she is whispering to him- may be good for an advertising image-, I like the subject and the half and half lighting to me gives a feel of the time of day they come out to feed- little owls in UK at dusk-, Again agree that I would have removed the oof veg behind the right hand bird.

Nice frame with good interaction, I would clone out the OOF stuff above the right owl. I also wish the light was uniform and you had a better view of the left BO's eye.

nice frame overall TFS
