Great detail there!
I,ve been working Herons and Egrets recently and its surprising how much they feed on insects and small prey items.

Very nice capture, Joe. Certainly fits the theme. Great detail, especially on the dragonfly wings. I like the way he's focused on his prey, so the slight head turn away from us doesn't bother me.

sharp details, and the prey item is a plus. the main issue here is the head angled away from the viewer. colors could go a bit warmer for my taste

Super cool to have a dragonfly as prey item...especially a blue one to match the predator:c3:. I like your crop. Good details. Yes, a better head angle would have put this over the top.

The head/bill is slightly turned away. If this had been an environmental shot it would have mattered less but since this is a close up it matters more IMHO. Good detail and colour etc. The image though has good interest value so for me it would be a keeper. I wished my close heron portraits had your background and light!
