Looks like this one was after your lunch, Will! The inquisitive look and head angle work well. I'm less sure about the crumpled wing positions. Do you have others from this sequence? Nice to have a bit of thin cloud in the background to break it up a little. The detail and tonal rendering are up to your usual very high standards.

Having the wings opened up more may have prevented the shadows, but I love the intensity, sharpness, BG.

Hi Will, you are posting some excellent Gull images and this one is no different. Another 3D effect, and love the angled head with a nice clear eye. Did I mention how sharp this is. Well captured mate.
