Nice shot Will, love the frosty heather too!. Bird looks good, i think a little adjustment on the white lores would enhance a little. Is the bill sharp - just wondering of part of it had missed the sharpening mask??

Very nice. I love the frosty heather and this fact the the color of the heather comes through in the BG.
Your grouse pictures are so pretty.
Bird looks great and I see what Jonathan is seeing but that is an easy fix!

Nice frame of this grouse. Love the frost and the pose. Nice detail on those feathers as well.

Beautiful bird and frosty scene. The bill isn't perfectly sharp, and noise seem to be robbing you of the finest feather detail (slow shutter probably played a hand as well). Would you consider a wide drop? Bird is rather cramped in the
frame, I'd love to see a bit more habitat, and a loser crop would help minimize some of the fine detail issues from shake/noise.

Like this a lot, William. I agree that the shot might benefit from a loser crop. Beautiful foreground and background.
