This a couple meters earlier in my army crawl towards this beauty than the first post. Also, a straight on stare. This guy is standing down the ramp to the burrow and had no legs showing. So, I went for framing from the foreground grass up.

That's a real cracker David, I really like the direct stare.

David, hard to dislike a stare from a Burrowing Owl. Still one of my favorite Avian species and you showcased it well here.

File is sharp and I like the surroundings. But I feel a slight bit of sat could help.

Also maybe dodge and increase the sat on the right (our left) eye. I had a repost made but hate posting in others' threads. You can do it no prob I'm sure

Anyway, just something to consider...

I like this on, the dilated pupils show the low light. owl is sharp and very detailed. colors look a bit muted on my screen, could be warmed up a bit. the BG bokeh is a bit busy but not much you an do when they are on the ground peaking out of their burrows.
