The harriers here in northern Utah are some of my favorite things to watch, and attempt to photograph. For this image, I positioned myself at the end of a stretch of high grass on the edge of the road that I've observed these raptors cruise back and forth along in the past. With the sun at my back, patience paid off and a number of 'fly-bys' took place.

I was shooting @ iso200 and could've used alittle more shutter speed... the full rez image out of the camera isn't as sharp as I prefer, but I still like it, and thought I'd post here for comments.

Light, wing position and fanned tail look great. I might give it more space on the left to fly into. It is a bit small to say much more, you can post images up to 1024 pixels.

Great posture, and I would take a bit off the RHS, and add to the LHS. I like the clouds in the sky.

I love it John. The flared tail feathers and the background are wonderful details. Great job to position yourself in the right spot.
