This image was created at Gatorland on 2-7-09. A very special afternoon with magnificent reflections in the breeding swamp. Exposure for the water and then adding some fill flash to bring up the Great Egret. Comments welcome.

Dang--Robert! This is sweet!
I love it! The colors and reflections are so amazing. The feathers--lightly touching the water--so nice.
Great work with the whites. Amazing image.

Everything about this is so beautiful. The gorgeous background, the ripples in the background, the concentric ripples, details in the bird, its pose and the reflection. Just great!

nice Robert, a time when the "higher" point of view has a definite advantage....the reflected color in motion is a really nice touch.

The top edge of egret "might" be a bit too sharp

Agree with you on point of view - and a Gatorland you are on the boardwalk. That's why I will use the 600mm and get them further out lessening the downwards view.

I thought the same on the top edge too but liked how it gives it a 3D look. My print looks different in that the hard edge is not there. For my JPGs I run USM only on the whole image and rarely do selective sharpening or fine tweaking for sharpness.

Thanks for your comments.

Very nice. I especially like the look of the water (like liquid metal) and the detail in the reflection.

If you tryed a arty feel here you did a Super job. But if not the BG looks to silky. Maybe to much NR?
Apart from this i like this image as is and think it works great with colours exposure and comp being great well done

It looks as if the 5D MarkII will be hard to beat, Especially in the hands of The Masters. It would be hard to improve this picture.

Nothing to add but "OUTSTANDING". The 5D Mark ll is a fine tool. This is incredible Robert. Thanks for sharing this one. Love the water and the whites. Love it.
