This pair of lorikeets was nesting in the grounds of a Caravan Park so they where quite use to the comings and goings of people and vehicles. The nest hollow was about 10 feet up so I was able to erect a hide on top of my 4WD vehicle :). The pair of lorikeets would often come to the nest together.

This is very cool. Great setting, angle, poses, use of DOF and BG. Did you use flash, and if so, at what setting? I'm asking because I'm wondering about the saturation. The catchlight in the eye of the bird in front looks a bit weird. I might add a little bit more space at the top.

Very nice. I like the deep, rich colors.

Extremely well done. Wonderful color and d-o-f. And the juxtaposition of the two birds is perfect. I would back off on the SAT about 10 points and either crop a bit off the bottom or add a bit to the top (if possible).

Later and love, artie

Thanks for the comments - yes Axel I did use fill-flash -1.5 stops compensation.

John I love the pose on these two. The saturation and fill flash are a touch more than I like but still a very nice image.

Me too John, perfect but for a little too saturated.

Hi John,

What a great image. As artie said minus some sat and darken the upper left corner a bit and its superb. I really like everything about it.
