I'm struggling to find time to go and shoot some birdies so dug this one out of the archives. Shot in the same location where others like Stuart and Dave have shot many of their blinders.

I wish the front one's white facial feathers weren't so bereft of detail...these are tricky customers to expose perfectly.

Techs:
Canon 7D with 100-400mm L IS USM @ 400mm
f7.1 @ 1/800 SS @ ISO-640
Exp +0.7

EXP perfect. BKGR sweet. Love the hanging feet of the upper (not quite as sharp) bird. All in all, excellent.

Morkel:

I think the left duck is very comical looking. Skinny body and huge feet, pose, makes me smile.
Agree it isn't quite as sharp. Nice background, overall exposure.

Cheers

I like Randy's insight about the comical left-hand bird. I sympathize with you shooting black and white birds, especially in that strong South African sun. Is your shot cropped a bit too tightly?

Hey Mork, great double, and both with good flying postures. The exposure looks dead on, and just love the BG.

Love the background and the flight positions - especially the feet-all-dangling-down-o. Nicely exposed.

thanks for the comments everyone...I could have sharpened the top one a bit more methinks...but it was probably just out of DOF range :)
