Common Pauraque

Workshop: South Texas

D3, 600, ISO 400, f6.5, 1/250, flash @ 1/16th power.

Cropped tighter for this forum to show as much detail as possible.
The technique I used to get this image will be featured in one of my up and coming newsletters.

Alan:
Love the wings up pose with detail on ventral and dorsal surfaces, subtle flash work, sharp.

Interesting eye, not familiar with them. My first thought was a flash artifact, but perhaps not?

Dark background suggests a night flyer.

Look forward to hearing your tech.

Cheers

Randy

You don't know this is a night bird? :2eyes2: I worry about you man. :)
Awesome shot BTW Al!

Stunning work, Alan. Excellent pose and superb details. Was the eye worked on (probably red eye from flash)?
Looking forward to your newsletter.

Man, that white stripe across the primaries really stands out. Very cool. I too will be looking forward to read the technique used for this image...
