I like the background, sharpness, errant feather on crown.
Wish the head was back our way, better eye contact.
Perhaps tone down the whites a bit at the gape.

Hi,
I agree with Randy, plus to me the head feathering and the bill markings don't look quite sharp - was the head moving a little, or was this a big crop?

You had the right idea as far as BG and composition goes...you just needed to wait for the heron to turn its head more your way.

I agree with you all. The head angle could have been better. Actually this is the best head position I got before he flew off.
@Richard - Yes the head was moving.
