STA-5 (Storm Water Treatment Area)

Hi everyone! Has anyone been to STA-5? I read that they are open from Friday-Monday, so I was thinking about going there this Labour Day, but, before making an expedition, I was wondering if anyone had been there, or could tell me more about it. I read in the Tropical Audobon site (I think) that Spoonbills may often be seen in large numbers in the summer around this area. Has anyone seen many, or know about it? Thanks!

Here’s last month’s STA5 report. Less than 10 people have reserved a spot for tomorrow’s trip. We begin at 8:30 a.m.

Hendry-Glades Audubon plans to continue doing early morning Fall Migration Counts at 7 a.m. on September 21 at STA5, Fisheating Creek, and Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest plus other areas.
Data will be posted on ebird.

Thanks for the reply! I clicked on the link, but the Hendry Audobon site has been hacked, and has a load of spam posts in Polish! I saw a video on the site, which gave me a pretty good idea about the area at least. Thanks Marina!

I emailed them, and they responded, saying the STA levels were too high, but would be better late September. I drove down Browns Farm Road, but saw very little because the fields had all been drained or not yet harvested.
