Whilst stalking a couple of White-faced Herons, I was practising with different apertures. This view caught my eye in the viewfinder. Although at eye level, the saltmarsh to the front is in focus. I quite liked this perspective. To me it even seems rather surreal.

And yes, the herons did escape my lens!

I like it Paul !!!! Just shows you how much you can see when observing !!!!!!

Those images are available all the time is you look for them Here I would crop top and bottom make into a pano You could also have shot from the opposite direction for a different effect btw do try back lit Will get some strange effects !!!
 
I agree with Alfred, a pano crop would strengthen the composition well.

Thanks for the comments Al and Robert. Here I've done a bit of cropping as an example of the panoramic effect you said would strengthen the image. Obviously this can't be applied to the actual file, as the quality would deteriorate fast (well, maybe), because all I have is a five megapixel camera.
