Southern California/Santa Monica - August 2015

Hi Folks,

I will be in S. Cal. (Santa Monica) for a family wedding in mid-August 2015. Thinking of extending our stay and looking for some recommendations on locations for photography at that time of year. Don't want to have to drive too far (11/2+ hours or so).

Hi Ken,

Not sure what you are looking for but Bolsa Chica state park is a good spot for lots of different birds that time of year and is only 45 min. to an hour from your location, without traffic

Ditto Bolsa Chica. That's where I head when I visit my son in college. Good Terns, Reddish Egret, Skimmers, etc. Check the tides and sun position to pick your spots.
