Hello! I joined the forum a few days ago and thought it was about time that I said hello.
My main photographic interest over the last 8 years has been landscape and insect macro photography. I have recently become interested in bird photography and 3 months ago I bought a 7D and 100-400L just for bird photography, I now find that I am using old technology as both camera body and lens have been replaced by new models - just my luck as there is already a significant drop in value. However, I have a lot to learn and I am sure the equipment I have got will serve me well while I am doing so.
David a big welcome! the equipment will serve you well, I used it for some considerable time. I am looking forward to you submissions in the macro forum - and landscape I am determined to take some landscape shots from now on I have done very little, just bought a 24-105mm so no excuses now!
I still use the 7D, and still have and at times use the 100-400...both fine pieces of equipment that should give you great results even with newer versions now out.
You've joined the perfect forum to help you learn and grow as a nature photographer :-)
Hi David and welcome. I also have a great interest in macro ...bugs included :) No need to get caught up in the latest and greatest of equipment. I shot with a 300 2.8 for many years and produced some of my best work before I jumped to the 500.
