Hello Everyone:)

Here's a little Ground Squirrel searching for food at midday:)

Those cuties use their tails to protect themselves from the scorching sun while they scratch around under small bushes for roots and small seeds.

I have often seen them eating flowers as well as Kalahari melons (tsama). They do not have to drink as they obtain moisture from food they consume.

Images taken at Mata Mata camp in the Kalahari.

Thank you so much for your views and comments on my previous Sequences.

Hi Gabriela so cute this little guy , and doing the same funny stuff as the big ones !!
Well processed images with some nice tones and technically well executed .
The top one works for me the best as it has the cleanest overall appearance . You did well with the harsh lightning and got some very nice detail in the shadowed areas !!
When watching the middle frame i had the initial idea , bad boy as i am , wouldn´t it be great if a colleague came in from the RHS between the twigs /shrub and kicked the little ones butt !!!!!! oooohhh!! that was bad .

Cheers from MrB.E. i enjoyed watching this sequence very much

Hello Andreas,

I am so glad you liked this little one, indeed so cute as he stands up to check his surroundings, looking brave yet so vulnerable at the same time:)

The first frame is also my favourite, I might share it in Wildlife too if you think it will amuse everyone.

There might be more in my folders with some interaction, not sure about "butt kicking" but somewhere along these lines... I will be away for a few days but when I return I shall look for those, just for you!

Warmest regards,

Very grateful for your contribution in this Forum, thank you so much Boetie:cheers:

The 3rd is my fav here Gabriela, as it nicely depicts the shaded "roof" so well.:bg3:

I love watching these guys ........so full of character that are part & parcel of African wildlife.:w3

Thank you Marc for viewing and comments,

Indeed they are so amazing and entertaining to watch, and I love the way they use their tails as umbrellas:)

Wishing you a pleasant week-end,

Wonderful series Gabriela. The photos work well in black and white. I like the lighting and crisp detail. What a cute subject well captured. :S3:

Dear Alison!

Apologies for my late reply to your kind comments, I have just returned from a two-week camping trip to the Kruger Park.

Busy catching up so I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to view, hopefully you make your own contribution to this forum:)

I will be back with more sequences soon...

Kind regards,
