Hi Sid, nice having you here at the wildlife forum! And a good image to start with. I really like all the different patterns in this photograph. It makes it very interesting to look at. As for the composition I would suggest a slightly tighter crop from top. This would eliminate the OOF area's in the top corners and put the focus more on the strong patterns and lines. Perhaps it would be nice to post your work a little larger than 500px. And it could be usefull to post some more information regarding the settings you used (especially your aperture, since this image is all about DOF). I'm looking forward to see more of your work here.
Sid welcome to the wildlife forum.. We'll strive to share our images, improve our craft and have some fun.. This image is a fine example of what type of image works best from a zoo.. Your tight crop eliminates any indications of location. A bit tighter from the top might help but overall I love the graphic nature of the image...
Great to see you here Sid and I love this image I agree about a little tighter crop but the straight on view has a dynamic impact . Really a superb composition !!
I'm not sure about a tighter crop.
IMO having the Zebra higher in the frame would resolve the OOF issues (they don't really bother me) and at the same time have all the "whiskers" in the frame.
That is if having more room at the bottom would not create a distracting area.
For that composition to work, the Zebra's chest would need to be the background for the mouth and whiskers.

By the way, outstanding image as is. As noted could be even stronger.
