This is such a pretty bird.
I like the perch and also like the OOF reed in the BG.
I would crop from the top, taking about an inch and a half off the top.
Good DOF and exposure control on the blues in what seems to be slightly bright light.
I might be tempted to clone out the OOF reed that intersects with the head and beak but certainly not a deal breaker.
    Very nice,
    Gail

That OOF reed head near the head of the bird draws my eye a bit that's the negative bit,on the positive side you have made an excellent job on the bird itself, getting it out in the open, and getting all the colours of a bird with colours that are difficult to get right on this bird is very well done.Often think they have an almost metallic look about them, tried photographing these myself so do understand how difficult they can be .

Hi Gerhard, you have captured a nice angled pose, and I really like the various blues on this fellow. I agree with coming in from the top, and a pity you have the OOF reed intersecting the head.

Cute bird, I love the scaly feathers - you've made those look great. Although I'm generally OK with the oof reed I would have preferred less of it merging behind the subject - moving to your right a bit more could have worked (unless the wind was blowing it around!).

I like the shot very much, the lighting didn't do you any favours. I would suggest lifting the blacks around the eye and cheek a little bit.

Nice looking capture. I really like the detail on the bird. Would have loved to see this without the OOF reed.

Lovely bird and pose with super colors and details. Wish the vegetation to the right behind bird were not there. Too bad it's not OOF like the ones behind the bird's head which don't bother me at all.
