I cropped the image a little more than desired for presentation reasons I also removed a few awkwardly placed twigs. I had not previously noted the "eye lashes" on these birds.

Jon:

You have to love the 'hairdo' on this one! Striking eye, good shooting angle. There is a mild green tint to the image, and adjusting the white balance helped. I also tried warming the image a bit, but the biggest improvement was from getting rid of the green tint. Give it a go,

Magic! Thanks Randy, the light from above must have filtered through the leaves in the tree.

Hi Jon .. nice that you managed a shot of a breeding Bird , very cool .
Lovely wind swept head feathers and you managed the lighting quite well with the tones . Nice eye
Comp works well , albeit I think it should be. touch looser all around .
Regarding the colors ... I would say it is more cyan than green " tinge " in the darker tones within the subject , but that is really " over correct " .

Nice one and TFS Andreas

Thanks Andreas, the bird was a bit large in the frame because there were lots of messy twigs and branches around.

Hi Jon, nice to see something different and as Randy said, the Funky Quiff makes it stand out.

Overall a it too tight for me and I might have subdued the waves in the BKG. Definitely more below, definitely revisit the file if you have time.

Jon two simple tweaks in Lr, I'm away getting stuff ready for going away, so done on the laptop just as an example, not definitive!

Steve, the area around the nest is increasingly messy that's why the tight crop also twigs over water.
Your repost looks good.

They always are, you can't change that, so I personally feel the mess is far more expectable than the hefty tight crop, just my take.
