    Default Falkland Caracara

Hi folks .. back to the southern hemisphere
Image of the Caracara captured on a misty day on Steeple Jason Island , the island is part of the Falklands .
Unbelievable lichen covered landscape on that island ... very dangerous to go overboard with the colors , so I tried to keep them kind of dull !!!

Wonderful image Andreas,I think you got the lichens perfectly and I could see where it would be easy to over saturate them. The Caracara is nice and sharp.Fantastic TFS

Andreas, loads of interest in this one amigo.

A very well placed subject with loads of details and great eye contact. The muted and mottled colors behind are a great backdrop and the lichen up front adds too.

Love a rich, dark bird on colors. Very well processed sir, a gem!

    Hi Andreas,

My first sight of a Falkland Caracara and he does seem to be having a particularly grumpy Monday morning about him!

Colours and details look superb as usual. The variation in the dark tones of the feathers is beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing.

Lovely setting indeed, and at 85mm that was a very accommodating subject! I think you managed the colours well. Liking the wet look! I'd be tempted to remove the short strand touching the far talon.

Very, very nice. The feather detail and colours on the bird look real good. Great pose and HA. Everything just works well here Andreas. Well done.

Very impactful the eye grabs my attention immediately, plumage details and colours spot on and a pleasing background too.
