Hi folks a second image of this species , taken on a different Island of the Falklands .
Most animals are not that shy on the archipelago ...
If you look closely , you can see the lined up photographers

Hey Andreas,

A very cool portrait of this Caracara. As usual, the processing is impeccable.

One thing that surprised me was the eyelashes! I'm really really not used to seeing them and had to look again! And Google eyelashes on birds!

Stunning detail Andreas. Fantastic composition and a very fine portrait!!

You must have been close to get a portrait with the 70-200

Not much to nit but I will say that when I looked at the thumbnail, it appears to be a lighter halo around the entire subject, almost some sort of masking glow or something. I can see it as well at full size.

Very unusual for your images and not sure why, but probably not noticeable for most.

A gem to view, thank you.

@ Brian ... yeah been close , they are not very shy on some Falkland Islands . Mr Eagle eye found a halo ... ... well I did not realized it , only after reading your comment . Went back and had a closer look , there is a faint wide " halo " .... coming from BG editing during processing . Personally I have not seen it ... and do actually not see it , at least not that it is bothering me . The reason is quite simple ... the curve adjustments to the BG were done through masks ( blurred masks ) so there is a possibility to create some faint halo .
