More of a fun image I suppose. I had to laugh whilst photographing. The mother Eider had disturbed a small bug whilst probing about in the seaweed. I thought she was going to eat it. But no. She urged her chick to catch it. The chick saw it, and started to jump, nearly got it, but, the bug moved a wee bit further upwards. This went on for a few 'jumps' before the bug escaped. Better luck next time. I never thought at the time, I should have made a video along with the images.

    Hi Will,

You have really captured some interesting behaviour here. And the duckling seems to be sharp and clear.

I find the splash of water isn't really working for me - maybe just the way the light is working on it.

    Good to see something different!

Hi Will, great, something different, well spotted and executed.

You can feel the duckling propelling itself out of the water, stretching, in the hope to grab that wee crab. I like the too tone colouration on the wall showing the water height and the texture in the concrete juxtapose to the fluidity of the water. Overall I think you could open it up by over 2/3 of a stop, but keeping the water dark.

Hi Will the poor duckling .... one can almost feel his struggle !!
Well worth posting , did bring a smile on my face .
Adding a " vignette" might emphasize the action more ??
