This is the Aust version of the Kite Arash put up a few days ago also aptly named, white underwing but showing the light grey on the back of the bird and very prominent black shoulders and is a mature bird in breeding outfit. This is a wild bird, not a set up and therefore we regard this as getting pretty close -approx 30 % crop-.and the rat is probably a local bush rat not a feral mouse from Europe which are sometimes in plague proportions and nearly the same size. This pair of birds were catching five or six every day and needed to with three offspring.

Super capture Ian great pose the eye is shown well and the prey item all adds to presentation. I have slight reservation over colours - perhaps a little on the blue side??
Hi Ian ... a great looking capture of the bird .
The caught prey is super bonus , very cool .
The posing is maybe not " ideal " ... but does it make look interesting IMHO. The red eye ... is stunning
For me the WB is a bit off ... at least the subject is way too blue . If mine ... I would burn the whites and the legs .
