Juan Carlos Vindas

Juan Carlos Vindas was born and raised in the countryside near San Jose, Costa Rica, where he grew to love the wonders of nature that surrounded him. This childhood environment created such a special attraction to birdlife that he gave up a promising career as an architect in 1994 to become a birding guide. His growing experience with the many different ecological zones of his country and the often unique birding sites was put to particularly good use when he began photographing birds in their natural habitats in 2006. Since then he has been using his skills to lead photography workshops and birding tours in Costa Rica and Ecuador.
