Common Greenbottle - Lucilia caesar (probably)

Nic work Micheal. I know how hard it is to get the exposure right on those little white flowers although not quite as bad as any of the yellow ones. Nice angle too to maximise the DOF. Shame the background is a little distracting but sometimes you just have no option.

    Thanks arash_hazeghi, much appreciated

    Dunnock

It is weird, but the humble Dunnock is one of those birds that are always sharp. I like this shot but agree with what others have said re the twig, not that you can do much about it.

    Two Good Head Angles

Fab shot. Everything nailed perfectly IMO. The DOF is great with everything important acceptably sharp. A shot that holds interest for sure. The Osprey is a species once effectively extinct here in the UK but thanks to various efforts is bouncing back well. Hopefully in a few years we will have...

    Lesser Yellowlegs And Reflection

What a beauty. We only get the odd one over here. I would be chuffed to get a shot half as pleasing as that.

    Swift

Thanks. I really enjoyed the 7D2 but wore it out in the end. The top dial begun to get unresponsive. It had done around 800K shots so I really could not complain. I switched to R bodies and fixed the 7D2 with a good dousing of contact cleaner. The 7D2 is still in use as I gave it to someone in...

Thanks all. They are so much fun to photograph.

    Swift

Another old shot from me, this time one of the swifts that visit our shores in spring to breed. It was raining and there was a rainbow so I tried to nail one in transit. When the swifts arrive they are so exciting, zipping around often inches away and in good numbers. They are definitely a...

    Thanks Andreas.

    Jackdaw

Really like this. I find jackdaws really hard to expose well. You’ve done a great job, especially to show the little bit of iridescence on the crown with the slight purple hint.

    Brown rat

A local to me nature reserve did something odd a few years ago regarding rats. It is an odd reserve with a cafe. It used to be mainly wildlife enthusiasts that visited but in recent years has been taken over by well off mums to meet up and chat over an over priced ciffee. One of these mums saw a...

    Mounting a microphone.

Over the years I have dabbled with video just shooting the odd but now and then to give myself a challenge. If anyone is interested here is the last one I did What I want to work on and improve is the sound. I have been using off camera a little Tascam DR-07x as it was cheap and there was one...

    Razorbills

Really like this. Always good to see them shot a little differently. Being really picky and got my own tastes, the change in background colour so close to the top of the birds heads feels awkward. Maybe to suit my own personal taste I would have adjusted my angle so more of the bird was in one...

Fantastic work having auto resize. I assume Imagemagik is being used as EXIF is in tact. Well done

    Post a Photo

Fixed width would be nice if there was an auto resize on upload feature. I k is there are plugins for some forums that do that but I have not checked to see if there is one for this one. For people who exclusively use devices like iPads, resizing themselves is not so easy, so I can understand...

    Common Tern

A really old one this, but just popped up in my mind after seeing an excellent tern tossing a fish elsewhere on these forums. This was shot late in the evening at a local reservoir, handheld with a 7D2 and EF100-400II. I was sat on the bank for a couple of hours watching the terns feed and...
