    the pink and grey

Finally got to correcting the image this morning, here is the repost.

    the pink and grey

Thanks all for the comments, appreciated. I knew it was tight... The off angle light was good on the wings, the problem with these guys is when the crest is down the head looks really smooth and I tried to bring out some texture there, but agree it is over sharpened.

    Least Flycatcher

Excellent image, and really cool technique! I have tried stacking on a very slow wildlife specimen, but on a little bird this is terrific. Detail is excellent, I have no idea where the stitching occurs.

    Keeper of the Day.

Great pose and colors. I think it is sharp, but based on the 200% frame it was a but underexposed, so the details aren't there in the plumage on the head, perhaps making it seem less sharp. Keeper for sure.

    the pink and grey

Female galah flying towards the morning sun. Eolophus rosiecapilla. Canon 600mm, 1/3200, f5.6, ISO1000.

    Theme Sword-billed Hummingbird

Great details, the composition is spot on.

    Killdeer Preening

Great light and details. I like the yellow flower, but I can see it being distracting to some. Catchlight would be odd at that angel, but the bright ring around the eye means the eye does not get lost in any case.

    Full Wing Stretch

Great pose and details, good view of the spur on the far wing. Your southern race with the black on the shoulders looks more distinguished than the one up north.

    Pectoral Sandpiper

    Stunning image.

    Puffy shirt

Australian Bustard doing it's display. From what I observed this is close to full display, with the neck feathers held up to the bill and the tail to the back of the neck. Chest feathers also at full puff. Canon @1200mm, 1/2500, f8, ISO640. Maryfarms, QLD.

    Oriental Dwarf KF with catch

Love this, the pop on the blue and purple feathers is really nice.

    Sandeling Preening

This is a bit different, but I like it a lot. Personally like the upper LHS, quite subtle, but makes me think about the cause.

    Short-billed Dowitcher Portrait.

    Perfectly complementary background, superb detail.

    maori wrasse

Thanks Andreas. I won't give up, but it might take a long while to catch up to Mike's standard. But it is nice floating around with the different creatures and trying.

    maori wrasse

Thanks all for the comments, particularly Mike for the details. I am a beginner UW, and it is a slower learning curve than other wildlife given the planning, gear, cycle time, etc, so this was trying to rescue an image... But you are right on both counts Mike - even if I thought I did well...

    Swamp Deer !

This is great. You have the deer looking your way, as well as all the birds - looks like a bunch of coots, some cormorants/darters and a lapwing-ish bird. Shows diversity, I hope the area is well protected. Only thing I don't like is the rock on the RHS.

    red-tailed black cockatoo

Thanks all for the comments, there is a consensus I should try and get more from the far wing. This is a very black bird, and the wing is in the shadow from the body, so I am not as confident I can do much, but will give it another go. Jonathan's suggestion seems interesting. I did get some...

    maori wrasse

Humphead maori wrasse on the outer reef. As you go down the light gets blue, I don't think I had the strobes hot enough for the 'surface color', but you can see the tattoo patterns which give it it's name. Canon 50mm, 1/200, f14, ISO1000, twin strobes.

    Cheetahs with kill

Light was handled well for the circumstances. Gorgeous cats, are they sisters?

    White-tail buck

Great details and background, really balanced image.
