Hi folks ... a Newbie for me on the avian capture front :S3:
Image captured in the Swiss Alps on a overcast part of the day , so I kept things cool and the background dark ... background is is a mountain .

Canon EOS R 6 II
RF 400 2,8 IS L + 1,4 TC
HH

F 8 ; Iso 2500 ; 1/4000 sec

Processed with Darktable 4.6 and PSCC 2024 ; slight crop from LHS and Top

Very well captured Andreas. Looks like you had a successful trip. I like the comp with the white snow against the dark BG. Great detail in the snow. A lovely looking bird and you captured a good pose. Personally I would remove the brown stuff on the rock in front of the bird.

The soft light allowed great detail and texture in the snow to show. Alert pose. The dark blue background works well with the brown/orange tones in the bird.
I might be tempted to try a crop with a bit off the right side. I like the angled snow line on the left, might try to work the bird angle and that snow line along the diagonal in the frame.

Cheers

An unusual image, the bird is well detailed, the strong contrast between the mountain and snow is very attractive. I have not heard about this bird before - a first for me.

A better head angle was needed here (I suppose you expected that), but I love the snow texture and dark background. Good details too.
