With the updates in Adobe (across the board) and radically changing my initial WF, I thought for a change I might just look at an older file just to see what the updates can now offer.

One of the most legendary of Tigers, shot very early in slightly misty conditions.

Subject: Tigress (Panthera tigris)
Camera: Canon 1DX MK2
Lens: EF200-400f/4 L IS USM HH
Exposure: 1/800 at f/5.6 ISO8000
Original format: Landscape, FF width

Hello Steve,

Great to see you are revisiting those special folders, haven't seen a tiger posted here in a while so very pleased 😊
Would you have imagined in the past that an image taken at ISO 8000 would look this good...

Quite like that you maintained the misty look while Arrowhead's beautiful face remains sharp with good detail. Nice walking pose with one paw off the ground, those visible traces of blood tell us this tiger's been feeding. Great colours and tones, consistent with time of the day and lighting conditions.
Background looks good and those trees add a bit of context. I like to think the subject was heading to the forest so you were lucky to have a glimpse, how wonderful.

Whatever changes you made to your workflow certainly benefit your images. Something I have always liked about your post-processing is that you've always been respectful of the species you portray and your images look natural and effortless. Lovely work Steve, and thank you for sharing!

Warmest regards,
Gabriela

LOL, I think you know the changes and worth doing Gabriela, it might add a tad more time in PP, but what I'm saving long term is a game changer in Storage, plus it now creates options in the PP of a file. I can certainly again draw more from the file and remember this I think was about 18mpx.

Apologies in not replying yesterday, but out and about and spending for the future!!!! :D

I think a lot of people will be making the most of the Adobe updates, the image looks good, very good, it would be interesting to see how your original post would have looked just to see what an enormous improvememnt there has been.

I know some of the changes. LOL. Will catch up when back from Bucharest, things super hectic at the moment but looking forward to some peace when I return and some quiet PP time.
Spending for the future...that sounds good, in fact very good...hope Father Christmas is generous this December and brings new goodies ;)

Warmest regards,
Gabriela
