SECOND TRY-- Season not great for breeding in Southern Aus. this last spring[oct/nov].Nevertheless though numbers down there are countless feral pigeons for prey which may not be good for this species unless other wild birds in the diet. I was trying out the Z9 and 800mm lens which seems okay but better with the lens hood off in our high spring winds. Here Dad has picked up the carcase from a youngster for a catching lesson but as usual with these wild birds it happened out of site.
Macropus means big foot same as some 'Kangaroos also 'Macropus.' I liked the aggression towards me on a lonely path nearly 50 yards away and the broken sky for change and the illusion of folded tail feathers on this male of my favourite species.
Better effort I hope

Lovely shot, I too noticed the minor issue on the masking, another minor issue I think the detail on the left leg could be improved by lowering Highlights or Luminance.
