This is an image I captured using my vehicle as a hide. Rain was blowing through, hence the slow SS. I got a few drops but decided to remove them. Beanbag. Cropped for comp. ACR and PS.

A very rural setting! Not in love with the perch though, but you get them where they are eh. The background is borderline for me, I do wish it had been farther away for a more pleasing blur to it. The pheasant looks super. Nice wing flap, and perfect body/head angle.

I like that proud pose on this beautiful bird, but do wish the bird had turned a bit to also show off those tail feathers. Sharp details and rich colors.
I could live with the BG and the perch. I feel the image could benefit from a touch of warmth. TFS.

Hi Will, the scene/location is what it is and looks typical for this subject.

1/250, pants Will, surprised you got it as sharp as it is, but why you didn't push the ISO, you need to get over this block! The muted colours of the BKG work I think quite well and separated the subject. You need more NR for the BKG and you can afford to enriched the Pheasants colours.

The bird is sharp and I love the wing flap. What short wings! I am not seeing any raindrops. Not thrilled by either the fence or the background.

with love, artie
