Very nice capture Steve, points to behaviour. This baboon is so preoccupied with its hands and so absorbed in what he is doing, because grooming is extremely important to the species as they have to constantly remove parasites which may cause disease (such as lice, fleas and ticks).

Composition works for me and I must say you really nailed those colours on the subject. Some tend to oversaturate in PP and the animal ends up looking a bit odd.

Love the pose, nice detail, in particular on those human-like hands and fingers, the smooth background brings the subject to the fore.

So pleased to see so much variety in your posts, you took every opportunity you had and your images show thoughtfulness when out in the field as well as during processing. A pleasure to view, thank you so much for sharing!

Warmest regards,
Gabriela

Hi Gabriela, not an award winning image, I just like the fact the baboon was not fussed with me photographing him, shows he was chilled. Probably could have squeaked a bit more DoF, but good detail overall. I also use the neat little trick within Lr to address some of the HL's, works a treat.

Thank you, and have a lovely weekend, hope you get some time out in the LC with Carl. 👍👍

Many thanks Steve,

Out and about tomorrow very early morning, shall WhatsApp if I see something special. Have a wonderful weekend!

The image composition does concentrate the viewer on the baboon's intent, rendition of detail is super. His eye is obviously shaded, it would have been tempting to many to Dodge a little round there but I think that would have been a mistake - I like it as presented, at first I thought shame about the legs and feet but I think it is the close attention to something on his wrist that is exemplified very well with this crop.

Jon, I'm going have to talk to Alan again as I'm not getting any of your comments across all Forums!!!!!

I think I might post the original, it may then explain my thinking. Again, not a WOW, but just trying to get diversity, there may be something I will post that might just sucker you in!!!!
