The Kingfisher is likely one of the hardest birds I’ve tried to photograph. They are fast unpredictable and generally don’t like people.
This bird has started hanging out at the Port Aransas Tx Nature Preserver at the end of one of the cat walks. I managed to spot her when she was flying back to it’s perch on the cat walk and got two images as it sped by.
This image is from a 25% corner crop. It was impossible to center the image and thankfully the camera got a focus lock. I managed to get 4 frames at 20 FPS. Thankfully the full-size chip on the R5 allows for significant enlargement.
