Hi folks ... now with the food source ;) :p
Sadly I have no access to something nicer or photogenic like a pheasant or a hare , would be way cooler .
So I have to live with the day chicks

Canon EOS R5 II
RF 2,8 400 IS L
Tripod

F 4,5 ; Iso 4000 ; 1/1000 sec

Processed with ACR and PSCC 2025 ; cropped and removed some tiny distractions in the mossy perch

THX for watching and commenting to my previous postings

Cheers Andreas

The buzzard and perch and background I like, the chick - I don't. the feathers on the perch are fine it's just the chcik I don't like.
Colours exposure and details look very good indeed.

like everything about it but for the fact that as the bird's head is turned away from the light just a bit, it is in the shade. Otherwise excellent. Let me try some. Be right back.

Lightened the shadowed parts of the face with Tim Grey Dodge and Burn and did a bit of perch clean-up. The bird's face is no longer in the dark.

Head angle does matter :)

THX Jon and Arthur for your kind comments , much appreciated
@ Jon ... i do understand your reservation about the chicks , but I have not found another option to bait the Buzzard . I have easy access to the chicks , so I take what I can get . But I am looking for something nicer

Hi Arthur ... would agree with your observation and the edit did bring some more life to the face , albeit I think your edit is too strong for my taste .... as it is too obvious .
But I do like the more intense color ... nicely done Arthur .

For sure does the head angle matter , but it is not the end of the world or of photography ... if the HA is not 100 % perfect . But you might that see different

Cheers Andreas
