Nikon D70s 70-200VR+2X @400 1/2000 f6.3 ISO400 -1 EV

This was taken last week on an overcast morning. It was cropped about 50%. I ran noise reduction and luminance and contrast and sharpening in Lightroom only. I am particularly interested in comments regarding noise; I have trouble seeing it. Do you see some? If so, is there a better approach than Lightroom to diminish it? If so, what do you recommend? Of course, all other criticism is welcome. And, by the way, I cut off the shadow at the feet area deliberately (there was much more there) and I left in the beginning of the mud flat at the top and the curved white lines in the water deliberately, also (for atmosphere). How should I do it differently? I should add that I'm aware of the shadows on the neck area . . . I post this "not very clean" image to learn, particularly about noise . . .

Hi Wendell

Don't see noise here and would not expected. Your camera performs well and there are not prominent dark areas. Will see noise mostly in shadows (dark areas/color} If this image was underexposed and you had to open up then some noise would be evident.

The one thing that detracts it the dirty water. Tough to make it work. The image is well exposed and sharp but would rather have the head turned a bit more. Applies for static and flying equally as well !!!

Wendell, I don't see any noise here! The color of the water below the mudflats is quite wonderful; I think if you had been able to get lower you would have avoided the mudflats but realize it isn't always possible.

Hi Wendell,
I like your composition, Exposure is good, considering you were dealing with very harsh light. I cloned out the dirty water for you...see if it works for you...

Alfred and Katie, thanks for your attention to my noise concern.
. . . and Gus, I like very much you work on the dirty water. I did not think it would make the image look better, but I believe it does!
