Hi folks ... it is running well for me on the Avian front , another first timer in terms of photography

Due to a colleague I got info about a Dipper location drove there yesterday with " small kit " and motorbike to check the situation ... found the Dipper relatively quick and tried my luck without any camouflage .
Quite happy with the first couple of shots ... for sure it could be better . The HA might be not ideal for some of you .... but I can live with it for the moment .

Processed with Capture One and PSCC 2023 ; slightly cropped ; little gardening in FG /BG . Kept the image a bit on the deeper side as the location was relatively dark , albeit the sun was shining .... but the whole scene was in shadow .

Looks just fine to me Andreas, colours are spot on details look excellent. I would not be surprised if this is a juvenile, the tail looks rather short.

The head angle is very close to perfect. The bird is lovely and sharp and I like the image design.

I like the image. Not sure what I would change to improve it. POV is terrific, "sense of place", great detail. This is one of my nemesis birds, so that might influence my photo envy.
