Greetings. It has been forever since I last posted, so please excuse the newbie mistakes. An old photo from the Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Reserve near Wallkill, New York.

Nikon D810 +300 f/2.8 + 2xTE (600 mm) HH +.33EV at f/8.0 1/1250 ISO 1600 Morning light

I don't remember the processing but typical Topaz NR, Nik SIlverFX (b/w conversion for luminosity toning), PS blending luminosity mode, Topaz Adjust for color, PS sharpening. Maybe sone LR dehaze, clarity, toning up front.

Thanks for looking. Cheers.

Hi Michael ... super action captured .
Love the wing position and the HA .
The perches are looking really cool in the FG , a bit overwhelming in the BG .
I do like the kinda high key image ... but it does look over processed to me , with no fine details rendered and truck loads of artifacts including heavy NR .... at least it appears to me that way .
You have used a wide arsenal of software ... maybe less is more :w3

Thanks, Andreas. I have to admit that I processed this some time ago (brousing my photos and landed on this one just as I was pondering posting in BPN again).
I have a new rig Z9 + 450 f/4.5 +2xTE that I shoot birds with. Also Z7II which has been converted to infrared, I haven't used the infrared for birds yet, but it might be interesting. I never know what to expect. It is usually a surprise.

I have a specific task for each software item but it is easily accessible from Photoshop. I've backed off the NR quite a bit recently since I started priinting and have discovered much is not necessary.

Thanks again,

-Michael-

Michael, good capture but my suggestions would be very similar - less is more, ISO 1600 and +1/3 on full frame I would think there would be very little noise at all (??) - do you need all the different filters for this image when you could I am sure get a great rendition in LR.
