Very nice. Amazing how well the emerald and particularly the willow emerald have spread in recent years. Just 4 years ago neither would be found where I am, but now they are very easy to find.

With their tendency to rest open winged it is impossible to include the wings all in focus but you seem to have managed a good DOF to show some detail there. Shame you were not a tiny bit lower to show the side a little better as for me, who is not too good at these things, would make it easier to tell if it is a willow or common emerald a little easier. Given the pale pterostigmas and short appendages I felt willow.

I recently posted some video of one seemingly attacking the wings of a mating pair of migrant hawkers over on YouTube. It has been a lot of fun trying to nab them in flight this year
