This image was taken at Provo Bay, Utah Lake, UT

Image taken just after sunrise, with sun behind Mountains.

I get good opportunities to photograph male Yellow Headed Black Bird but I could not photograph Females at all. It all changed yesterday. She came and landed on the branch right in front of me to watch the male singing. I was able to capture and take couple of snaps before she flew off into the bushes.

Nikon D500, 500 f/4 +1.4x TCIII
ISO 1600, f/5.6, 1/1000 sec
Matrix Metering, Manual Mode

Post processing:-
Changed White Balance, Remove Slight Color cast
Neat Image for Noise Reduction
Nikon 25-25 Filter

I generally don't push D500 to 1600 ISO, but it looked good here.

Hope you like it.

Thanks
Krishna

The habitat is very nice with its contrasting greens and tans. The bird is nice and sharp. I do wish for a slight head turn towards the viewer, and I'd try to warm the bluish area of BG to match the rest of the BG.

Nice Krishna Bird is nice and sharp. Love the natural grasses adds to the composition, almost feel the grasses moving adds overall.Maybe would clone out the grass coming off the head.Just slightly and yes it would have been nice if more head angle. I get plenty of opportunities to shoot. these but usually go after the males.

Very nice image here Krishna. The repost addresses the white balance beautifully. Composition is well balanced. Only a head angled a couple degrees more towards us would have made the image even better.

The scene and the light are very pretty. I agree that the head angle is not ideal. On my screen the shot has a string yellow/rose colored cast to it. I think the first version is better but even more could be done to remove the cast and also add a little more depth to the bird.

Fantastic bird, nicely framed. Artie has put it very well. My variation on the Japanese is that it had an Ikebana (plus bird) feel to it. Great pastel background too but those grass heads and the relatively small-in-the-frame presentation work a treat.
