The thrushes start arriving from mmainland Europe around the end of October early November.
I captured this image from my hide in the wildflower meadow, he was attracted by windfall apples which I had laid out about a week previously, they like them when they are good and mushy!

Hi Jon,

Starting to get serious winter when there is snow on the ground and Fieldfares feeding on the apples! Neither has arrived in my garden yet.

Such a pretty bird - I love the combination of the greys and browns with the tan and white breast. This one is making a striking, alert pose and looks great. There is something funky with the eye, but I presume that is just a reflection of the snow covered ground.

Looking forward to more!

Thanks Gerald glad you liked it... the eye appears that way due to the light angle, I'll check future posts from this session.

Hi Jon, nice winter scene and cool to see the Fieldfares, but you have sadly lost all that lovely detail in the snow that you originally captured.??? Also watch the halo around the subject.

This is just from the OP with 256 colours, you can bring truck loads more from the raw.

Look forward to more.

Nice shot Jonathan. I really like the setting and the edit. Had plenty of them around recently but barely any snow yet here in Herts. Hopefully soon and I can pop to one of the many old orchards around here for a shot like yours.

Thanks Phil & Steve, regarding the snow - yes I agree with you Steve, my original intention was not to enhance too much but I think you are right - more detail looks better - more to follow!
