Flashing Ibis

Photographed March while on Jim Neiger's and James Shadle's BAA approved "Best of Florida" workshop.

I like the quick golden flash of iridescent colors & patterns, reflecting from the sunset.

Thank you for looking, and your suggestions are appreciated.

i like the head angle and the light is fantastic!! i see some noise in the shaded area under the wing. looks like you could have lowered your ISO a little without sacrificing enough shutter speed not to get a sharp image. i might would add a little more contrast for a little more punch, too. love the placement in the frame.

Nice colors and timing Brian. For people not familiar with these guys, they like to fly on afterburners (they fly really fast).

Agree with Harold's points.

2500 @ 6.3 @ 1600 ISO in full sun . Wow. I think I know where you picked up those settings!

Nice flight shot. Really like the details in the bird and the colors are very nice.

the few "little" nits aside, this is a beautiful image IMO.
The spread tail is a very nice touch

Wow, Brian, you nailed the bird! Only wish for the other wing to be extended.

I agree with you Brian - I just love those iridescent colors and plumage patterns on the underwing areas. Nice capture of this fast flier, and lovely light. Wish for a slightly better head angle or the bird flying a tad more toward you, but lovely image all the same.
