Image captured from a hide. There was a family of GSW and there were frequent disagreements. (Adult male on LHS, subadult on RHS)
Cropped to 3:2, a small branch have been removed

Jon. I also like the interaction. These woodies are great to photograph when things like this happen. IMO the whole image needs to be brighter, and slightly warmer. A faster SS would have helped, and a thinner perch. I'm sure you'll have plenty more similar.

Jon, nice storytelling image.

I think there were some good notes above, particularly the image just feels a little dark and drab. You could selectively bring up some of the whites even and give the image a little more depth but I think overall it could come up.

Also, you had some ISO room to bump the SS and that would have frozen the wings a bit more.

I think it's a really great frame though and some minor adjustments could go a long way!

I am ok with the overall " drabness " as per Brian ... what bothers me personally way more is the presence of the cyans /blues in the plumages , might be my personal color fetish :t3:bg3:.
The perch might be not the nicest one , just because of it´s diameter ... but hey if things happening there , fine.

Nonetheless a shot to enjoy
