Hi folks ...
something different and for sure not everybody´s cuppa tea 😀
For me it is not perfect , I should have gone even longer with the SS to create even more motion blur . But not too bad ... IMHO.
Let me know , what you think ?!

Canon EOS R5 II
RF 2,8 400 IS L + 1,4x TC
Tripod

F 7,1 ; Iso 100 ; 1/15 sec

Processed with Darktable 5.0.1 and PSCC 2025 beta

THX for looking and commenting to my previous threads

Cheers Andreas

Something different!!! Nice to see an image like we don't normally get.

There are few images with motion that will tell a tale like this will :p Pecker pecking..... perfect.

As far as what my eyes say I think you processed it very well. I enjoy the rich blacks and lovely reds.

Maybe a head angle slightly toward us would improve it but nice job going outside the box 🍻

THX Brian ... your comment is very welcome 🤙 (y) 👏
Pecker pecking was the base goal of the shooting .... I went up and down with the SS , to find a sweet spot . Have not found it yet , will keep going .
Would agree with your view about the head angle .
The original capture was oh so flat and boring ..., so I went a bit heavier with tone and color .
I can repeat that every day , if I do find the time .... as male and female are visiting couple of times the feeding spot .

Andreas - sorry buddy not for me, I am probably expecting too much from these motion blurs. I like the colours but the motion for me doesn't work, if it was just the head and not the body it would have been good for me - but of course if the body moves - well it moves!

I like it. It would be interesting to see some of the other SS photos, but for me, this one does seem a good balance of motion blur while the keeping a clearly defined head and beak.
THX Kurt , glad you like the " unusual" approach from my side !
Will try to post more variants ... as none is like the other , LOL . But for the most part they are crappy stuff . So " keepers" are minimal

THX Jon ... i guess you probably do expect too much , LOL.
Would agree with you that just the moving head would be perfect , but it was in none of the shots the case .
But no problem if the image does not matcgh your taste .

Cheers Andreas
