Just had a runout to my Grouse spot about 45 mins from home.

Subject: Red Grouse (Lagopus lagopus scotica)
Camera: Canon EOS R5
Lens: EF 500 f/4L IS II USM 1.4XMKIII
Exposure: 1/1600 at f/5.6 ISO2500
Original format: Portrait, very slight crop from the foot

All Raw captures perfectly exposed, confirmed by Raw Digger

Steve, the colours and tones here are so well balanced and create such a powerful visual effect, so pleasing to the eye.

The tones of the heather in the background are perfect. Really like this composition.

Thanks again Phill, wasn't too sure how many might be still around, but there one or two, but all keeping a safe distance, I wonder why? :)

Interesting note, there were a pair of Rough-legged Buzzards scouting the area too.
