Hi folks ... here is the female counterpart of the previous posted Male .
She visited only twice every day and she was very dominant , chasing the male around . I guess she was sitting on some eggs as the belly feathers has been disarranged when she came to feed every time.
I think the perch is a bit large for a ideal subject / perch ratio ... but that was not in my hands where all the birds land at that spot . So I have to live with it as is .

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2023 ; slight crop for comp and some gardening in LRC and behind the stump

Hi Andreas, interesting bird I am not familiar with, I like the shades of brown, tan, and grey. Nice and sharp on the head and eye, pure background. Maybe if you removed the teleconverter the parts of the bird that are soft might be in focus, of course then you would have to crop and trust the resolution of the lens. I like the image, quite interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry can't follow your thoughts about missing DOF .... all important are in focus and well defined , I do not see the need to get more . Specially not when the bird is not parallel to the sensor . And others thing is ... the bird is not attached to the stump , so who is giving me time removing the TC ..... take a couple of shots and then attaching it back ??!! At least this is not the way I do shoot in the field ....

A nice view of this husky finch. Details on the foreparts are wonderful. I lobe the OOF flowers in the BG. Sure, bird is a bit small for that perch, but it looks like you would have struggled to keep the whole subject if anything larger presented. Wish I could see a bit more of the feet, even if they would be out of focus at this close range. I cold see going with a 4x5 crop instead of 2x3. You could lose a bit at top and bottom and give the bird more room in front and behind.

I also love the OOF flowers in the BG and BG color makes this one pop! Bird is sharp where needed. I am fine with the perch Nice work!
