Hello from an Aspiring Amateur Photographer

Hi

My name is Timothy Griesel and I am a young photographer who is really looking for constructive criticism so that I can grow and start to produce some incredible work.I live in the delightful city which is Johannesburg.


This is me

I studied two years of photography at Vega School of Brand Communication.

I have a passion for africa and for its wildlife and I think that passion started when at the tender age of three, I visited Savuti and surrounding areas in Botswana for the first time and these first experience and the family I grew up in instilled in me a desire to experience and gain insight into all that the bush could offer.

Photography came simply as a hobby at first but now I would like to try and make it a career but I know there is still a lot I need to learn before I can call myself a professional.

Ever since the early botswana days I have tried to get into the bush at least twice a year but usually only managing one trip (hopefully this can be changed).

I have travelled Southern Africa quite a bit and have visited the following countries on at least one occassion, zambia, zimbabwe, botswana, lesotho, mozambique and a little travel in South Africa.

My main focus is to improve on my photography and learn from you guys, I know i am still young and there is a lot I still need to learn.

I would love to upgrade some of my kit but alas, I dont have the cash too at the moment.


I will try to post here as well as comment and critique other peoples work but from an amateurs position (wish I could call myself a pro, but not yet)

I live in Johannesburg and I enjoy wildlife, landscape and portraiture photography. I do enjoy the big stuff such as the predators but what really attracts me is trying to capture the smaller stuff but in a different way, a unique way. Anything else you guys would like to know? I will try to answer asap.
