This is one from a set up, where the Kestrels are baited with mice. I managed to get this shot not long after sunrise. Gimbal Head, from a hide. ACR and PS.

Appreciate the angle you achieved here and a complementary background colour pallete. The only critique I can offer are the feet. It appears as if it's about to land, or has just taken off, but without a reference to a point from which to do so, something appears amiss to me and I keep looking at the feet rather than the eyes and wings which are beautiful.

Very nice, Will! You had some nice soft light for this one and the detail looks really good. Pose with the wings fully up is great and the background colours and variation hold the bird well. Lack of a branch or landing reference doesn't bother me.
Only thing missing is some prey! ;)

Great pose and color. Wonderful image. I find my attention has a tendency to go to the bottom maybe because of the pose. I wonder if some crop off the bottom might help keep the focus more on the bird

Hey Will ... you seem to have a super time with the Kestrels , providing you with a lot of options to capture some stunning images so far .
This frame does tick all boxes for me , love the dangeling feet

Love the image as presented
