Hi folks ... image captured at commercial set up in wintery conditions .
Wish for a better HA and more fish visible , but the KF turned around at this stage ... all other frames has been even less ideal from the posing POV .

Canon EOS 1Dx III
EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
Tripod

F 5,6 ; Iso 8000 ; 1/1000 sec ; might have stopped down to gain more DOF

Processed with DXO Pure Raw 4 ; DT 4.8.1 and PSCC 2024 ; cropped to 75 % of FF for a better comp

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous postings

Cheers Andreas

What a gem! Colours look absolutely spot on, the unfortunate tiddler adds to the image impact. Your observation over DOF I would agree with, when the subject is this large in the frame the OOF "shoulders" on the wing do draw the eye from the head and bill area.

Just for info I note you used DxO Pure Raw 4, I have used it but I also have DxO Pure Raw 3, I cannot tell any difference in result between the two versions - have you seen any difference?

THX Jon .. glad you like it , even if there is the DOF shortcoming :)

Regarding DXO ... for me no question , Pure Raw 4 does a way better job and has more options to take influence on the settings .
Right now in 30 days trial with DXO Lab 8 .... even more things for refining the choice of NR . Sooner or later it will come to Pure Raw 5 I guess .

Cheers Andreas

Hey Jon ... what kind of software is intuitive for you ??

DXO lab 8 quite simple ... i just use the three modules ( Noise reduction , lens corrections and chromatic aberrations ) adjusting to my personal taste for each image .
Export as DNG ... Done .

Noise reduction way better than any other piece of software ... well IMHO , others will disagree .
But that is fully ok , as we all see things differently

Adobe is intuitive - of course! Had a look at DxO lab8 and processed a few images, gives good results even just leaving on Auto for Standard and the top level NR. Not too sure about buying it ..... may consider buying the stand alone NR package after all...... I initially couldn't see much difference with latest upgrade compared to DxO3 but now I can!
