Hi Ray,

Sweet image and pose. The bird is very nice and clean in all the details. I like the contrasting colour of the background and the effect of the DOF on the dried flowers and stems, it seems to add depth to the image. I'm a fan of so called "negative space" so the extra space on the right side is not a problem for me. The space above the bird is a little more than I would leave, so my only change would be to crop about 30% or 40% lower between the bird and the border. Personal preference!

Thanks for sharing, Gerald

Composition looks OK to me, good detail exposure, clear background with foreground interest, I like the complimentary colour of the flowers.

Agree with Gerald, loosing some off the top and again, based on the OP a 16x10 works nicely IMHO. Overall the image appears thin, it needs a bit more tonal depth, certainly in colour, and here, the blacks bit more punchy, eliminating the blues in the blacks also helps a lot. A few little tweaks and you are there, the slight head turn I like.

Lovely image Ray. Love the colours throughout. Nice pose and HA on the bird. Agree about taking some canvas from the top, and maybe adding a little more to the bottom. The flowers and stalks look good and give the image a boost.

I'm OK with the space at right, I just wish you had pointed your ln down a couple inches. Beautiful subject, neat perch and flowers! Nice background too. Looking at the full-size posted image looks like an additional round of sharpening for web posting would bae good - but I have no doubt your original file is sharp enough.
