Little Grebe taken at a local pond. Unfortunately it was not possible to get a lower angle due to vegetation. The image has been cropped.

Hand held, Olympus OM-1 150-400TC (@1000mm FF Equivalent)
ISO 2000, 1/1600 sec f5.6

Hey Jon does look good technically to me ...
Colors do look quite natural and the details showing up very well .
Comp too central for my liking ... but I know you like that way so no issue in general .
Personally I would try to get more tonal separation of subject and surrounding , matter of taste .

Hi Jon, technically the photo looks as good as can be. But the content just isn't grabbing me unfortunately. The bird/head is angled ever so slightly away, the shooting angle is steeper than I'd like, and overall seems like a dull, grey day. I'd crop from the bottom; in my mind that improves the composition. Grebes are too irresistible; always fun to watch, so thanks for sharing.

Little grebes are never easy. I quite like them on dull, overcast days like this. The water droplets add a nice touch too. Shame you couldn’t get a lower angle
